Ilkley Angling Association |
River Wharfe at Ilkley The club’s fishing rights extend from the packhorse bridge, both banks, downstream to the stepping stones at Ben Rhydding. Most of the river offers excellent fly fishing, with wild Brown Trout to over 4lbs, Grayling to 2lbs and Chub to 5lbs. There are also some very good pools for float/feeder fishing. |
Lagoons on Coutances Way, Ben Rhydding The club controls the fishing rights on two coarse fishing ponds on Coutances Way (Leeds Road), accessed from the lay-by close to the car wash. Considerable improvements have been made to both ponds in recent years with many more weed free swims available than previously. The main highlight of both ponds is the large wild Tench (running to over 6lbs), with Rudd, Bream (to 6lbs), Perch (to 2lb+) and Roach also present. The Members Lagoon also holds a number of mirror and common carp and the Roadside Lagoon holds pike. |
